I was listening to TWIP yesterday, and they really hit the nail on the head with their off the wall comments.
There is a rumour that Nikon are working on a D4x which will be a higher specification than the D3x, higher resolution; Probably HD Video; etc
The big joke obviously was that camera design is a continuous cycle, meaning that Nikon obviously are going to be at least starting pre-work on a D4x (or the successor to the D3x) even before the D3x was released, and no Bookmaker will take any bets against these rumours. Yes they are very probably true, but it has the same probability that I will have to pay tax on my income next year.
From the Sony camp there has been talk of two new FF dSLRs, but until they are released, or at least a firm release date is known; then its hard to get excited about them. Just as a point of note, Sony first showed the a900 something like 18 months before they actually released the product, and we are still waiting to find out what that huge telephoto prime is: 500/4 | 600/4.5 etc as Im sure that was also shown around the same time as when the first a900 was known about.
Im pretty sure that these two Sony FF dSLR specs, first started off as a wish list from someone at Dyxum (there is a thread over there on a similar subject), and these specs just seem to be doing a continual loop around the forums and rumour sites.
In fact Im sure that they have been doing around for such a long time, that there is chance that someone from the Sony development team read the specs, and have had enough time to develop a camera to meet the rumour. LOL
