Ok, my laptop is nearing the end of its life.
It has two keys missing, the volume buttons on the top doesnt work and neither does the brightness button. It takes about 10 mins to load up from when i turn it on and large programs tend to run slowly (eg photoshop). And the 'no space on C: drive' comes up all the time. Also even though it has the battery pack in, whenever it is disconnected from the mains it wont stay on.

However, i really dont want to give up on my baby just yet. So even if you can give me advice on just one of these problems it would be so appreciated!
I'm literally willing to take my laptop apart and put it together again, i just want to be sure what im doing.

so please help me :( i need my laptop!

Well the ''No space on 'C' " message means just that....your hard drive is full so you've no storage space left. When your computer runs out of RAM to perform tasks, it temporarily uses free hard drive space as virtual memory to perform heavy tasks or open large programmes. A combination of a small amount of RAM and a full hard drive sounds like you need to delete any stuff stored on 'C' which isn't essential - to free up some space.
 
First off, Control Panel > Add / Remove programs, and uninstall any programs you're not going to use.

Then download and install Adaware SE (Free version)
from www.lavasoftusa.com

Then get a good free virus checker and do a full sweep and scan.
 
It's best to go and buy an external USB hard drive if you can. Copy everything over to it, and format and re-install XP. It's really the only way to see any good performance gains. Wipe it and start as it was from the factory. Just make sure you back everything up to an external hard drive before you do!.
 
I don't think they are very good on battery only, the Vaio Lappy I have does not last very long off the mains. The "Full C drive" though, mine is partitioned with a "D Drive" which is about 66% of the full drive, so maybe transferring across may help, thats if you have the partition.
