Hi all,
I often photograph aircraft and vehicles in museums. I have a Sony a77ii and a Sony 16-50mm 2.8 lens (SAL1650). Is this a wide angle lens? I ask because I still have to stand a long way away to get a good view of the subject. If this is not classed as a wide angle lens, can someone recommend a wide angle lens (A fit) for this camera.
Thanks.

It’s a 24mm equivalent focal length at the wide end. So yes it’s wide angle but perhaps not ultra wide angle.

Look for a used Tokina 11-16. Superb lens, fits A mount.

Lens arrived today. Thanks that was what I needed.
Excellent. I used to have one for my A77. Is very sharp edge to edge and no overlap with your 16-50 lens which is also very nice. I had the 16-50, the Tamron 17-50 and the Sony 16-80.

I loved them all but if I could have only taken one it would have been the zeiss 16-80.
