A friend of mine has just pointed out somthing i have never noticed in Flickr although i dare say its been there for a while.
Whilst searching through various images he came across an old picture postcard of his house from the 1960s, when right clicking to save as, it saved as spaceball, trying to open the image in paintshop pro there was nothing more than a blank image.

He and I thought this was quiet a good way of protecting ones images.

Does anyone know how you set this up in Flickr?.

Thanks

It's in your account settings under "Who can download your content" or something similar. Been using since I joined flickr and I agree it's very useful but doesn't prevent people using applications or sites that use the flickr API to gather images even apparently if you opt out of 3rd party stuff in your account settings. Getting a bit riled up about finding my photos on websites that I haven't given permission too! >:(

If its on the internet, then people will be able to get it. No such thing as 'completely safe'.

Accept that fact or go live in a cave :p (aimed at those who desperately try to stop people getting their stuff, not just photos, and will throw everything at it, including the kitchen sink).

:)

Thanks for the replies, The flickr holder of the old house was just protecting her collection it was quite good as the original was not that large verey small pixels but enough to view, by the time it was copied onto the pc it was unprintable, we know as my friend contacted the lady to ask for a copy where it was explained it was difficult to get a decent copy from her collection which proved so. My friend did infact get a decent copy after asking politly.
I think its worth using but as you say not full proof...

regards
