Spider First Day at Macro

Right Folks :)

Today is my first true day at taking Macro. I am adding to this a picture of a Spider and love to hear Honest comments and How and what I should improve on.

Congrats on your first attempts, to my eye the detail and colour look fine, your dof is pretty good. (y)

Maybe a little dark, though that could add atmosphere to the pic.

Lets see loads more please :)

The Background was very close it was the shed... The spider was webbing from a basket to the shed.

So think that why I could not get the background to show
 
Also thanks everyone for comments will keep trying :) Not too sure whether to buy a SpeedLite Flash and strap it to the lens or get a proper Macro Flash but which I dont know....

I been using onboard flash at the moment seems ok

dark background is caused by the flash, nice start Rookie ;)
 
Looks good to me (y) I agree that a crop would be good, also why not try and bring out the web a bit more?
 
Well done, for a first go, that's sharp and plenty of detail.
