I don't think these need a caption but this is the first time
I observed such scenes!

Nothing bad happened…
just an adrenaline rush for the Great Crested Grebe
and the feeling to be out of place for the Small Egret.

Interesting capture, Daniel. I notice that the Grebe has opened up it's neck feathers ..last shot ...as the egret gets too close. I've done a few googles inserting the word 'ruff'. I can't find any mention of it.I can only assume the grebe uses it as a warning in these circumstances. As you'll know, in the animal/bird world many species, when they feel threatened try to make themselves look larger than they are,infact some people do that,invariably men squaring up to each other.

Sure thing… and these are so fast that the elegant
Egret wouldn't stand a chance I think! After all, it is
sacred nest territory.
