Steet photography etiquette?

As I am planning to take my camera to work with my today I thought I would try some street photography on the way and maybe some motorway photography if I get stuck in traffic.

Question is would it be normal to walk around with flash gun attached? I know the clear answer would not be to use flash whilst on motorway but just wondered what the norm is for when walking the steets

Myself I don't think i'd use the flash as it could be seen as too invasive for candid stuff.

if you're struggling for light, just pick a lens with the highest aperture but dont go with flash for street

Agreed,
I try to strip my kit down as far as I can if I go out on the street.
I will take the grip off my body, flash will stay at home etc...

Bruce doesn't have a problem using a flash. Horses, courses, etc.
