Stephen Carson's 365

61 looks like a film set

and 64 is fantastic, i prefer night pictures because of the colours you can get in the sky

Fake Tilt shift landscape :)

It does indeed work really well - the sky look almost like a painted sheet, which just adds to the effect :)

Another detail shot of the lighter, flat-out day today. I was at an archery tournament in the evening then got home after midnight (the tournament was a 2hr drive away!) and had to start into getting a laptop working with eos capture to shoot teathered for tomorrow.

Nice couple of shots there, shame you've cut off the bottom of the lighter though. BTW, you've titled the second one as Day 60.

Yeah I was a bit annoyed about cutting off the lighter didn't notice until I went to edit the shots afterwards.

As for macro lenses, I use a 60mm it's pretty good although you do need to be close to stuff to get any great magnification. If you wanted to shoot things like insects you would probably want 100mm or more.

Feeling a bit uninspired today so you get a generic gear shot .

I have been playing more 'Indiana' series shots though, shot on-location and even more ambitious than the last.

It certainly wasn't made in the modern digital age :p

It's a non-IS version that puts it at least pre-97, awesomely sharp lens.

More macro madness, I wish the weather would pick up a bit more. I'm planning another Indiana Moley shoot!

I was too tired to post this shot up after last night at the archery. We had the N.Irish elite squad coach down at our club so I was shooting quite a large number of arrows in the 3 hour space. (I normally shoot about 2 of the hours, then just chat for the rest. I shot the entire time but also shot 6 arrows every time instead of 3, so over double my usual amount).

Edit: I forgot to mention what it is! This is the tab I use to protect my fingers from the string, it's one of the many things in archery which has a million and one combinations and not a single one is 'correct' so it's all a matter of playing about to find what suits you. It's basic job is very simple it stops the string damaging the nerves on the end of your fingers. The metal tabs at the top are for a reference point where they touch my chin, then the string also touches my chin and my nose giving you two more reference points to aid consistency.

In other news I also did a location scout for some more Indiana moley shots today.

Racing the R/C buggys on astroturf, it was a good meeting. My local club went visiting to this club up in Craigavon. I've raced here once before and a few other times on astroturf but to a lot of the members astroturf was a totally new surface to run on being a lot more grippy than the polished wood floor we normally run.

I had a bad run of qualifiers only finishing one of them and it being a bad run, the other runs would of qualified me in 3rd or possibly even 1st given the speed of the 2nd run that I retired from. I ended up 7th overall just scraping into the back of the A final, after a fairly good A-final I managed to pilot the car into 3rd place.

A bit of a rush shot today, went out to take some and found out the lighter didnt have any fuel in it and the flash only had the power for a few flashes before the recycling time was to slow for me to be bothered with. I was aiming to try and get an iconic looking shadow on the wall behind me, I failed at that but i think the concept is pretty sound and will probably revisit it later at some point.

A very quick driver came down to the club this week and showed us all how to drive. I cant believe a drove a 5min race flatout without making a single mistake and ended up nearly 2 laps off the pace!
