Hi,

This is my first time posting one of my images here.
This image was taken when I had just started to take photography seriously.
It was a very foggy evening.

Taken with 24-105mm f/4L and ND filter.

Nice take and composition. The rendition,
though reflecting a proper DRL, should see
the mid range toned down a tad.

Thanks for the feedback :)

What do you mean by DRL (sorry if that's a stupid question!)

DRL = Dynamic Range Levels = black and white points setting.

I could illustrate but your edit says NO!

As I imported your larger jpeg in my converter,
it confirmed your DRL.

1, here, all I did was to tweak down the mid tones

2, this shows a major contrast reduction of the previous version

3, I applied here a grainy structure to the first suggested rendition

… ultimately, giving back the shot its foggy night look.
I did limit these suggestions to an arbitrary level but it
was just to illustrate the effect of tweaking down the
mid tones. You may explore going further down or do
anything that will reflect your artistic intent.

Wow, thanks for the tip!
I am just getting into the post processing side of things.

Just got the Adobe Photography package (Lightroom and Photoshop CC). So I am sat having a play with that tonight.
I was out this evening getting some photos to experiment with :)

I really appreciate the advice!

A different take on the bridge which works well-I prefer the edited version.Downlooad Silver Efex Pro.
Its a very good free download
for B/W conversion

I think i prefer the first of Kodiak's interpretations as the piers are that little more dramatic.
I would to add that I found the post and responses very positive, constructive comment well intended and well received.:)
