I read that on a PA newsfeed yesterday, whilst sitting in a field planning a shoot of the local barn owl.

Having had a bit of a run in with the local farmer over the Jubilee w/e my gut react was...

It's not enough, the mans obviously a danger to the public, should have had a few years and medical help at the very least.

He was lucky he picked on a nice meek young lad - a lot of folk i know would have taken it off him and given him something to remember them by.
 
The paper could have least of used one of the lad's woodpecker pictures though.
