Street photography cliches

Since this thread has been resurrected from the dead I'll just repeat this comment before unsubscribing:

I just read it as reflecting their experience of what's submitted to their competition. As such it contains some useful ideas to avoid producing the same stuff as many other street photographers.

Nothing more, nothing less.

Being far away from subject with a zoom lens, or just lots of shots from behind or no story.

Nothing wrong with it, but usually a beginner or nervous person will shoot street like this for some time before gaining some experience.

This is not an attack on images from behind, as you can get fantastic shots, or a project, but perhaps links in to the above about gaining experience in some circumstances.

Just an observation. No right or wrong.
