What strikes me right from the first look is the DR
of the capture. The shot was perfectly exposed, I
see very little 000/255 and no 255/255 whites! In
fact, the highest values on this rendition are R 246,
G 245, B 247 and B 245 /255.

Though perfectly captured technically, the rendition

though is not giving back all the recorded data nor is
it showing the crisp air cleanness of a morning take.

The solution would be to apply a DRL tweak on the
high end of the histogram. Here, on the 2048 px jpg.

I left the lows at 000/255 but took back the highs down
to 233/255, this has the effect of dissipating the grey
cast over the shot. I allowed -
007/255 cut to clear out
the
grey overtones, adding the averaged values of the
recorded RGB/Bl, another -015/255.
So, I set down the
high end of the histogram to 233/255 and that took care
of the whites, the punch and proper contrast.

I was not there yet, the tonal balance was not achieved.
I applied a value of +30 to the shadows recovery and it
was taking care of the blacks.

Now, the shot is clearer with nicer micro contrast overall
the image. I would illustrate but your edit says NO!

PS…
I would take care of the cosmetic touchups as well!

Thank you for the detailed information, much appreciated. I'm not a wedding photographer, I saw these couple having their photographs taken at the cathedral and I was at the place at the same time and couldn't resist taking a pic. It will help in my future editing of the pics.. Many thanks
