Student Software: Cheap MS Office etc -No Scam

My sister-in-law forwarded me a link to a student software website that she has used successfully. It's mostly Microsoft products but there are some other items that may be of interest, sadly no Adobe or Macromedia items.

I have just ordered Microsoft Office 2008 for Mac for £35.84 including delivery and it's the full proper product with gen key etc.

As far as i can see all you need is to have children or a child at school/college and for there school to be on their list. I though this would be where it would all go wrong for me as both my children go to a private school but it was on the list! You can check your school before making payment.

All of the Kaspersky products on there can be bought cheaper from www.scan.co.uk if you buy the OEM version, but the Microsoft stuff is cheap. When I was in uni I got a copy of XP Pro for £12 through a similar scheme.
 
I just got a copy of MS Mac Office 2008 through my Employee Scheme - not sure that I am terribly keen on it. Seems to work with the normal MS bloat and looks and feels very different to the Windows versions....I am sure I'll get used to it soon.

Well for £35 i don't care how it looks! It's cheap and my wife can't seem to get in with Open Office. Actually it's quite funny watching the wife struggle on the Mac as she has no idea where anything is:lol: Oh i'm sooo cruel!:naughty:

Sorry, did not mean to sound so negative. I bet you see what I mean when it arrives. It does look different from the Windows version though!

Be warned though, a lot of the student versions will not allow "upgrades" when the new versions appear.
 
MS are giving design software to students on relevant courses, can't remember the name of the site *** - D'OH

This is the full proper retail version so it says on the website and not the student version. Good eh!

I just received my copy and it is the proper disc with product key, however there is no box so i guess that's OEM software? Still it's the proper disc and thats all that matters!

I bet 90% of people could use Office 97 and still not use anywhere near half of its features.

Actually, not all student's software are not upgradable. This is very much the case with Adobe, but not with Office.

I had Office 2004 for Mac, which I bought for just under £100; and was offer the upgrade to Office 2008 for a mere £15! Well worth every penny spent.
 
I have just loaded office for Mac and it is superb! £35 well spent!!!!!! :thumbs:

I upgraded the Office 2007 Student edition to the full Office 2007 Professional suite :thumbs:
 
If it's office 2007 you're after, I got my copy through 'theultimatesteal'. It's £40 for the full MS office 'ultimate' suite. Only downside is that you have to have a .ac.uk e-mail address I think, but it's all legit etc!

Yeah it's a scheme by Microsoft for university students. Only for Windows users though.
 
The link you posted seems to only sell Microsoft software which is fine if you want something made by Microsoft. This place sells non Microsoft software as well and they are more or less the same price as the other company (in fact I think they are a few quid cheaper on some software).
