Gutted for you. Did they take anything else or just target the camera stuff?

Hi Janine,
Just wanted to say that's shocking and how sorry I am to hear of your burglary.
I hope you firstly get your kit back, and secondly they catch whoever did this,
best of luck

Very sorry to hear you have been a victim of lowlifes, have you any spare gear for your work?

The bag might be a Kata, I had one that was black with a very bright yellow interior

horrible thing to hear!!

did you have any cctv or anything to catch the scum that did this??

if you get a chance to, check your local cash convertors.... a place local to me had some kit stolen and the fella was watching ebay and the like like a hawk in the hope his stuff made a show- the scum traded it in for cash (about £400 when the stolen gear was worth more than treble that), and they even give there correct details when id was shown etc in order to get the money- so maybe worth a shot at looking around, or at least letting these shops know!!

Sorry to hear you have been burgled....hope you have some luck in getting your gear back.

Yes CCTV alarms the lot ! And witness so really holding my hopes on the safe return x I have saved searches on eBay hundreds of friends have posted on face book and will be contacting all porn shops tomorrow x

lets hope your get 'your' stuff back!!

it'l be like i was missing my right arm if my stuff got nicked- i wouldnt know what to do!

will be contacting all porn shops tomorrow

Noooo, try pawn shops :)

Not meant unkindly, especially at a sad time like this, read about your dyslexia a while back, but it did make me chuckle

If you are stuck for gear I have a 430 EXII you can borrow, not used it since it was bought ages ago so won't miss it

I know lots of you Are selling stuff which I have had stolen x once I walk to insurance people tomorrow I will probably be in the market for everything I have lost x

Won't the insurance company just buy you the replacements anyway? Most 'new for old' policies would do that. Saves you the hassle of trying to source replacements yourself.

Your 'porn' post made me laugh as well!! At least you have a sense of humour at a painful time :)

That's terrible man, really feel for you.

The scum bags should be publicly flogged...however they would more likely just get a wrap on the wrists.

Sorry to hear that - how horrible! Hopefully the insurance will be able to cover new replacement kit.

So sorry to hear about the burglary. I'll keep my eye's open at work (Park Cameras) just in case they work there way down to us.

lowlife scum, the lot of them & hope it doesn't effect you too much and the insurance sort it out as soon as possible

I also hate it when you see people had CCTV, alarms etc and they still get done over, maybe a safe of some description, might be an option, but i don't think there be a next time (leaving stuff there)

just be on your guard, the theif will think you'll have it all replaced sooner than later and might come back for 2nd's

Hi, Janine,

I'm based in Exeter and it's possible that the scum mayhave nipped down the M1, M4, M5 corridor from Biggleswade. There are 2 shops in town that sell 2nd hand kit, so I'll drop your list into them next time I'm in town, probably tomorrow since I tend to nip down to pick up a copy of Amateur Photographer. There's also Mifsuds in Brixham (worth a look at their website to check on their 2nd hand stocks when you can replace your kit) so I'll fire off an e-mail to them too.

I hope your CCTV etc allows the Police to identify the lowlifes and that you get all your kit back.

Nod.

ETA...
Just fired off e-mails to LCE (asking them to forward it round all their branches), Devon Camera Centre and Mifsuds. Again, I hope you get all of it back soon.

Hi Janine,

Saw this on a friends wall on FB. Hope you find your gear...will keep eyes and ears peeled as not a million miles from you.

Regards

Rob

In addition to other suggestions, check out any local cash converters or similiar too and keep an eye on gumtree also.
Wish you luck.

just camera's they were all in my bag ! i always take them home but i had to much to carry to the car so left behind knowing i had a shot this morning! just want to turn the clock back !

Sorry to hear about this, some right selfish sods out there. I hate thieves.

Was just thinking, do you reckon it's just a coincidence that you were burgled the one time you leave behind a brand new 5D Mk3 and other gear? I wondering if someone has been watching for a while or worse, someone (or associated to) who knew you'd left the gear behind?

thank you everyone for all your help in re posting and keeping your eyes open x i cant believe how much support i have had from other photographers from far and wide, lending me cameras and help, been such a comfort. I have been borrowing a camera from a local photographer which i will be eternally grateful for x

and yes i do feel like i was been watched i am in a unit of 3 rooms and no one else was broken into and my door is the last on the corridor, i am never in the studio on a Saturday im and usually at wedding its the 1st Saturday i was in the studio for months ! and my husband was away! they knew where to go once inside so they have been in there before !

Creepy. I guess one way of looking at it is that it could have been a lot worse. There's a rapid smoke screen anti-theft device which may be handy, for personal defence also. It fills the room with thick smoke within seconds and usually scares people away pronto. Jewellers use them among others.

If interested let me know and I'll dig up the details. It's pretty cool and not expensive.

Reminds me to get that shotgun cabinet I have screwed to the wall.

Commiserations...

Another mention for Gumtree. I was looking at a 17-55 last month on there, no lens front or rear covers as he'd 'lost them', wouldn't tell me the serial number as I said I wanted to run it past a police friend and he immediately removed the advert.

Good luck.

Hi Janine

Sorry to hear that - let's hope the police swiftly catch them and recover your gear.

Thanks

Andrew
