Hi folks, was wondering if you could.answer this one.... Are all subs connectors interchangable size for size?

I have a piece of equipment with a 37 pin sub d connector on it but on the wiring loom side it is missing a few terminals as they were nit needed for the original application. I now need to put these connectors back in. Could I just buy a 9pin plug to get the New sockets from that?

So basically if I'm understanding you, you have a large d connection but several pins removed, are you wanting to replace the d with a replacement with the pins or add a second d with the extra connection?

Maybe a diagram would help with what you want to achieve

Hi Neil,
I want to add the extra pins into the existing plug retaining all the original wiring(but adding 2 extra pins into the empty holes in the plug. If that makes sense!

It's actually on a vehicle data logger, the original loom has been made minus 2 pins/wires for an rpm box as the original application did not need them. The new vehicle needs these wires on the loom so I wish to add them into the plug.

Cheers
