Sunny Lowry was the first English woman to swim the channel back in 1933.
I had the pleasure of meeting her 5 years ago while I was working for the BBC. We were at Victoria Baths in Manchester, where she used to train as a young girl, and so she came along to see us.
She was such a sweet old lady too, with loads of stories and memories to share.
