Ive been going out nice and early for the past few days to capture the sunrise, which in all honesty is all new to me.

So, i get there, set up my tripod and flick the LCD light on because it's impossible to see otherwise! I try to autofocus onto the bushes and fields in front of me, then the sy, and again no luck, so i try manual focusing, but when i look through the view finder it's too dark for me to know whats focused and whats not :bang:

What do you do to tackle this problem? Or have you all got live view, in which dont reply because you will make me feel insignificant and poor :(

Thanks :)

I'd try just setting the lens to infinity rather than focusing on specific point.

if you do want a specific feature in focus does your camera have a focus indicator (green dot) in the viewfinder?

Torch it is, thanks lads...now were did i leave that torch...?

id go along with sue's reply ,,,,if you went out to catch the sunrise ,,,,i think the sun is a bit further away than the bushes
