There are a few access roads to the south styrian Wine Region.

Historically, Austria was a Holy Empire and the devotion of the
people got them to built many little chapels like this one, always
at the highest point over a valley.

Actually, this was taken with a long 400 mm from an even higher
hill, with a chapel as well, and across a valley.

Nice shot Kodiak.

Nice shot

It's a nice image. I think it could be sharper though (unless the soft focus is intended of course) and the blown highlight on the church pulls my eye.

Lovely composition and gorgeous light. (y)

It's a nice image.
Thank you Dale!

Not really, Dale!
Yes if you mean that I could have forced in some
sharpness in PP — but that's not me. The presen-
ce of highly humid air being captured by the con-
vection, between the distant subject and me, the
air is like "dancing" causing this effect.
and the blown highlight on the church pulls my eye.
That observable highlight "glow" at the chapel has
the same cause and serves as visual anchor point
in the composition that is otherwise bathe in a uni-
form warm orange tone.

I absolutely love this, a stunning telephoto landscape with charming processing that suits it. One of your best shots I've seen in the landscapes section Kodiak.

I wonder if a different crop might work. Telephoto labscapes can be hard in this regard.

I'd lose the bottom foreground bushes placing the chapel lower. Higher I'd include a bit more tree line. There's two trees in the light that are cut off.

All just opinion but light and colours are to die for

I think number 1 is the best even without the more obvious points of interest. It has a nicer softer quality of light and the mist. This would be my second choice and I like it too. Number 2 seemed a bit harsh

Before she left for the weekend, my daughter noticed
that we completely over looked your reply, SORRY! :banghead:

Thank you, Craig!

Thanks for your thoughts, Simon! :)
