Thanks Graham. I think the softness is due to a combination of optics, high iso and foggy conditions. The mists rolled in just as it was approaching totality, and the light was practically non-existent. I can't recall what iso this one was at, but I was up to iso 128000 at times. Not ideal! Also I was using a 2X tele on an old FD mount 400mm lens, open at it's widest. Unfortunately I think that's as sharp as I would have been able to get it under those circumstances.Thats a great image Tim, but it looks like the red moon is OOF and thats a shame, on the other hand its well done and also its nice to see the sun spot.
