Tried my Tamron 11-18mm lens on the Minolta 7000 today. Woah that's wide 
It went something like this:
1) Get close to church tower.
2) Look through viewfinder.
3) Get closer to church tower.
4) Look through viewfinder.
5) Get right up to church tower.
6) Look through viewfinder.
7) Lean against wall of church tower.
8) Look through viewfinder and give up because there's still too much in the picture other than the church tower :bonk:
At 11mm and without the hood, the tips of the corners are dark but it's still useable.
By 13mm there's almost no corner darkness.
And by 14mm there's no darkness at all, even with hood on!
Quite handy for photographing people standing right beside you without their knowledge - although there may be slight distortion 
I'll post the pictures up when developed...
