I'm running Windows 7 Pro, it's the first time I've seen this problem for a long while, can't figure out how to fix it, (memory block)

anyways I've narrowed it down to svchost.exe, can anyone point me in the right direction to fix it

:)

thank you

Have a look in the registry at HKLM\software\microsoft\windowsnt\currentversion\svchost\netsvcs

That's where the services which are started by SVChost are. See if you've got a dodgy service at the end.

You may need to start in safe mode to get time to get in and look

I'd also run Malwarebytes AntiMalware as I'm guessing you've picked up a nasty.

is this just after reinstalling julie? did it happen just after installing something in particular?

I had to reinstall the drivers, different motherboard as I couldn't get a direct replacement :)

I'll have a look at the registry, see if there is a bad service in there

thanks

:)

you reinstalled windows though? just swapping the motherboard over and getting windows to work (even with the right drivers) can be a bit hit and miss..

I haven't reloaded windows yet, although it sounds like I'm going to have to, however it will have to be done after I've finished moving house :)

btw the other motherboard that had burnt, I may be able to save it, by replacing the ATX connector on the board, looks as if the connector itself had developed high resistance, causing it to heat up and melt, although I'm not ruling out the sound card having a fault too, because that was acting up, If the board works again, it's going in the rack mount computer as a file/media server

yeah i would when replacing a mobo to be honest, you can have some sucess (more like luck) when replacing boards but i find it just gives too much grief with leftover chipset driver files etc etc.

good luck with moving, moved this weekend and im still hurting lol
