Sorry, I'm afraid I wrote that post :) Well. actually I'm not afraid I wrote it at all but don't let it cloud your judgement too much. You must make up your own mind.

I've always said it was worth my £99 just for the networking and an annual seminar.

But it also has a lot of shortcomings in the training/mentoring and awards system.

If thats the kind of learning you are looking for I can heartily recommend Mark Cleghorn's phototraining4U website. There is more educational material on there than you would necesseraly learn at SWPP.

Have a look, there is some free content on there so you can see the kind of thing you get for your pennies.

Tis your choice and it IS only £99 for the year so it's not too bad to try it out, it might be everything you hoped for but only you will know that one :) Just watch out for the three month notice period ;)

Have you had a look at the MPA, its only £50.00 for the year and i believe the mentoring system is much better. I have seen feedback from the SWPP mentors (not mine as im not a member) and its in no way constructive or encouraging! I think you can learn more elsewhere then perhaps revisit at a later date. hope this helps.

I'm a member too Tim. Based on what you've said you want to learn I don't think the SWPP is necessarily the best way to go. Perhaps join Mark Cleghorn's PT4U as Ali said or try the similar KelbyTraining.com.

I'm ashamed to say I've not been on the SWPP forum lately either although I'll go to the convention next month. I find the TP forum much more accessible and the overall knowledge is just as good as the SWPP.

I think the MPA might be the way I go if I ever decide to go for acreditaion - the feedback etc is supposedly much better.

Hope this helps
