tablet for raw viewing

Anyone use a tablet for viewing and storing their pics on. If so which is recomended.

The majority of tablets only have 16 or 32Gb of RAM in so not a huge amount of space to store raw pics on. You can get 64Gb on some.

Fine for a days shooting, but not long term.

16, 32 or 64gb wouldn't be the RAM Dale. That's the storage space of the device.
Most tablets have about 1gb of RAM.

That said I get approximately 170 raw files to a 4gb card with the 50D, you can do the sums from there.

Both apple and android tablets have apps that allow RAW viewing so i guess it would be down to our budget.

Say you could use 12Gb of the tablet due to other files, that would only be 510 photos.

Enough for a few days photos, but not real storage.

Yeah not really a long term solution but ideal for some of your best shots from your collection.
On some tablets you can add in extra storage space in the way of micro SD cards.

Why on earth would anybody want to use a tablet to store and view raw files? Convert them to jpeg on a proper computer, resized to 2048 pixels on the widest side.

Hi guys, The reason of the idea of a tablet was its size and weight carrying around. Thought about it for a larger screen to view pics when out shooting; and for showing off best pics to friends and family when visiting. Will check out what apps there are for nef/raw file viewing. Was thinking of the Samsung galaxy, see as i already have a Samsung Laptop.
