Hi all, over the Christmas period I was lucky enough to win some second hand Cokin filters on fleabay, now I want to get out and start learning what different effects the filters make to my photo's.

Is there a way of tagging photo's as you take them, so if I took a picture of say a landscape I want to know what filter I used to take the said photo so when I am looking at them at home in Lightroom I can see what effect the filters have had. (I hope that makes sense)

And how do you all do this when using filters for the first time??

Thanks in advance for any help and advice.

There is no way to tag an image as to what you have hung in front of the lens, the best solution is a notebook and just list the image number and whatever you used. Much like we used to do with aperture and shutter speeds in the old film days before EXIF was invented :)

Thank you Ken, the old ways are still the best then, we live in a world of multi million pound computers but the old notebook and pen still rule in certain situations, thanks for the advice Sir

Hi. You can edit the file info in PS afterwards so you can throw away the notes later on in case you lose it all.
