Ok, the snow is here and were all taking shots like mad including me. I had a call first thing this morning saying that a work colleague had just been killed last night by just slipping on the snow and banging his head on the pavement. He was coming from fire drill training.

It's not hit the news yet.

If you do venture out wear the right footwear etc and take care.

It's certainly brought it home to me.

:( sorry to hear that sad news

I can re-iterate, be careful. I was lucky enough just to get a broken wrist

I've got to brave the 3 miles to the train station later, and then hope I've got a train to work, then I've got to drive a train in this as well!

Like everyone says, be careful out there, if you have to go out, wrap up warm and prepare in case you get stuck, I know I'll be planning to take extra stuff with me.

Oh, and enjoy the photo opportunities! ;)

Yup, be careful, the bus stop by my college was covered by black ice and one of my friends (in not so sensible footwear) stepped off and ended up flat on her back.

I'm stuck in a hotel in Reading - the snow is higher than the bumper on my car and can't move so I'm not going anywhere!!!

It is all hard ice in my location. Hard enough trying to stay on my feet with worrying about safeguarding a camera so it is staying indoors for now.
Very risky conditions.

Nowt but a frost to us northerners tha, nows.:D

I'm in Reading and made the hour and a half walk into work this morning. Conditions definately not ideal for walking.

OP - sorry to hear about your colleague. Horrible news.

Thats terrible news :(

That's a big problem, is women still wearing ridiculous heels (especially on nights out when they have had one too many :beer:) Ice poses such a risk to us all, never mind people with wobbling about on heels.

Really sorry to hear of the loss :(

I slipped and fell walking back home from work this evening but fortunately just bruised my left knee and left elbow..

Do take care out there peeps. There's lots of ice under the fresh snow
