OK, I know the general feeling on these super zooms but I think I need one.
Why? you ask. Well I'm climbing at least 2 mountains this year coming (Ben Navis & Cotopaxi with a possible Elbrus thrown in for good luck). With all the other junk I'll have to carry a super zoom is a must.
So which is the better option optically, the 16-300 or 18-270?
These have £50 off for a couple more days so I could do with making an informed decision very soon. I heard the Nikkor was not worth the bankruptcy price compared to the Tamrons but I don't fancy climbing the mountain twice to retake photos.
