Same area to previous Barn Owl, its first visit here.
Food is getting pretty scarce for raptors, snow is still very deep.

Yes, taken in between snow showers.
I find tawnies always look fed up though !
Last February found several rodent runs as the snow was melting, wasn't sure what they were at first (lines in the snow at ground level)

Hi All,

The Tawnies seem to be doing Ok, it's the Barn Owls that are having the problems. Myself and a friend have now found three bodies on side roads in nearby areas. Seem to be quite thin with very protruding breastbones.
Have been leaving food in farm sheds on top of bales but am unsure if birds or rats are taking it. Had a purge the other evening shooting the rats so it may just be them eating the food. Have to set up a remote Camera I think.
