hey guys.

im after a teleconverter for my 80-200 AF-D.

im aware that if i use a nikon one my AF wont be actie.

ive read somewhere about the Kenko t/c being able to retain the AF function is this right??

can someone send me a link of the exact one i need to get for my d80/d300.

so that i dont end up getting the wrong one!

maybe a 2x converter, but i dont want to loose too much quality. do you think it would really loose quite alot of quality?

any examples?

thanks in advance

The Kenko Teleplus Pro 300 will retain AF with the 80-200, however the image quality will be noticably degraded with the 2.0x version, as it is visible even with the 1.4

I've mentioned this on another thread but, I have got a couple of Sigma 2x for my D80 and whilst I wouldn't recommend using both at once (although it can be fun) the additional level of softness when using one is tiny really. The only problem is the loss of AF, but to be honest I've never found this a problem. If you're shooting something far enough way to justify 400mm then I'd rather be manual to ensure I get the result. Plus it's character building :p

The shots below were taken with a 150mm with a single 2x TC @ about 60-80 metres away (mixture of crops):

Yes, the Kenko works fine, on both the AF-D and AF-S.

You can't physically mount a Nikkor TC to the AF-D.
