Hi guys,

I recently purchased this Nikon 75-300 f/4.5-5.6 AF lens, it can be seen here:

I was wanting to purchase a teleconverter for it. I know they come in different conversions x2, etc but I am simply not sure what converter will work with my lens. Took a few photos of the moon last night and would like to try a converter to get a bit closer without forking out for a new lens.

Thanks
Clarke

A Kenko Pro 300mm f/1.4 will AF with the lens.

At 420mm you are at f/8 so you'll need good light, but all Nikon digital bodies will attempt AF even if over effective f/5.6 aperture.

Thanks, so if I am getting this correct that will make my 300 1.4 times more zoom distance? Would I be able to fit a x2 or even x3?

Thanks

A 2x will attempt AF but honestly the results won't be good. You'll need amazing light for 600mm f/11.

Forget a 3x!

Ok thanks guys to the help, might have to purchase myself a 1.4x then.

Cheers
