Right I want more zoom, my maximum zoom is 300mm at the moment is it worth getting a 1.4x convertor or a 400mm lens or even a 500mm lens. Please advice? Also what good convertors are there out there?

I can't really recommend a TC on any xxx-300 zoom lens, unless you have a Sigma 100-300 or Sigma 120-300. The variable aperture consumer zooms arn't worth it.

Sigma 50-500 or Tamron 200-500 - or if feeling flush Sony 70-400 SSM?

If you do want a TC, then the Kenko Pro 300 1.4 DG will autofocus with all my lenses, even my Tamron 24-135 (which is f/8 on the long end)

Sony 70-400 SSM thats the very nice very expensive lens you just bought off StanTheMan I believe. (jelous)

Yeah I did, used it today. I prefer my Nikon prime lens + a 1.4x TC to it optically, but its OK for a 70-400 zoom.
 
yeh, just got to decide what I can afford just spent quite abit on the A700 and I need to find a grip to go with it before I buy anymore lenses. lol
 
ok, looks like om going to be saving for a while then, it wont really be needed till next summer when im looking at going either back to Kenya.
