I think if you crop a bit more off the bottom it would make a really interesting image.
The green really stands out on the black, and I like the wirey strands making their way off up to the top of the shot.
Good for a first effort!
 
Cheers, didn't want to crop too much, as would lose the shape of the ball.

Haha, looks like the Grinch's downstairs department...

But yeh it's cool :) What about a different crop? Less central and tighter perhaps?
