Nice shots and great processing again.

@LeeRatters where did you shot these cars. I would love to shoot the Rat Rod. Amazing :)

Here is one photo from me.
A couple of hours ago.
Leyton, London, UK
The 2016 Coca cola Christmas truck.
Shot with my new Sony FE 55mm F/1.8 lens (Thanks David)
Actually my first ever Sony FE lens lol :)
Not bad lens, quite handy and versatile.
Tried to go as low as 1/10 and some of the photos are in focus.

^^^ See, I never really got on with the 55/1.8 yet in my pre-Sony Canon days I shot 5D2 & EF50/1.4 virtually all the time!!

It was a monthly Cars & Coffee type breakfast meet held here in Bristol :)

Thanks. Not very close for a coffee and a few photos, but you never know.
And I really love the Rat rod :)

I tried the Sony 55mm F/2.8 only today.
Some mixed feeling - I need to spend more time.
It is sharp and in this conditions it managed very well (night, yellow lights on the parking, bright lights from the truck)

Another few examples from tonight with that lens:

Beautiful Mk1 Lee, that and the Capri Mk1 are some of the few Fords I really like the look of.
The trim around the lights and across the grille are great, I wish they'd have kept that.

I just noticed : the bottom inch of that foreground wants cropping right off!

And never even said merry Christmas ;)

Merry Xmas Everyone ;)

Dont worry I won't forget about you all I will keep popping in and out of these I do thank you all for your help and baring with me.. I had a go at the D500 and I just gelled to it. I just miss the DSLR the feel the size is just right for my hands.. I was missing pressing button when the Sony was at my eye and I dont have this trouble with the D500. It a fantastic camera couple with the Sigma 18-35 1.8 lens what a lens that is..

Great stuff.

Hope you can get on with the Nikon long term and enjoy the pictures and stop worrying about the gear.

Good luck with it and if I don't catch you on the forum before... Have a Merry Xmas and a Happy New Year!

Very wide!
Quite creative lens

Tonight I was out in central London with my new toy (Sony FE 55mm)
Now I realize that actually it is quite nice lens :)

One from tonight (I will edit more later):

Love everything about this. Fantastic shot and the post process is spot on. Love this look just wish I knew how to achieve it.

It is a very big secret :)

I did all in Lightroom.
I used Nate cam starter pack - http://natephotographic.com/vsco-cam-lightroom-presets-starter-pack/
Then choose the preset that suit your image (once you install it) and just play with the sliders to achieve what you are after.

I started playing more lately with the tone curve and sometimes it can give you quite spot on results.

P.S. Still looking from time to time to these VSCO presets and the RNI lightroom presets, but just cant justify the $59 purchase. I know it is worth and probably at some point will just buy some of them.

Anyone got any exciting Xmas add-ons coming there way?

I've been eyeing up a 50/55... still torn between the Loxia or Sony-Zeiss 55. IQ-wise it seems to come down to preference, I can't decided between the benefits of AF for shooting candids (especially fast-moving toddlers...) and the "fun" of MF for proper shots.

Not that I have £600+ kicking around, but nice to dream ;)

I have a bag full of manual 50mm lenses but I also have the AF 55mm f1.8 and it's an amazing lens and simply crushes every other 50mm I've had for across the frame goodness. If AF and technical excellence are on your list of wants the 55mm deffo deserves a long hard and serious look.

PS.
And on the MF side I like my old Minolta Rokkors :D

See this is my stumbling block - I could just get a legacy FD and miss out on the auto-magnification, EXIF and IQ, but save £500...

I have the Canon FD, Olympus Zuiko and Minolta Rokkor 50mm f1.4's but actually my favourite at the moment is a Minolta 50mm f1.2. The Minolta f1.4 is technically the best of the lot but with the f1.2 you get the option of the ever so funky look you get at f1.2 or a more polished performance when stopped down.

Be aware though that lovely though these old lenses are they can't live with the performance of a modern lens and this is obvious once you get away from the centre of the frame.

I sold mine a while ago, but the 55/1.8 is a great performing lens really & I certainly can't say much to put you off of getting it!

A half decent [f/1.8 & smaller] manual 50mm on the other hand can be picked up for the cost of taking the girlfriend & kids out for a country pub lunch!! Canon FD, Yashica ML, etc

I'm not really adding anything now ~ maybe a CPL to suit the Batis 85........

I'm going to concentrate on selling :) Canon FD kit & all the Fuji stuff!!

Yeah - see I've got a few decent old MF lenses, and enjoy using them, so the idea of having modern lens perks (IQ and auto focus-assist) is really tempting, but equally know that a lot of my shots are of people and toddlers in more candid situations where Eye-AF is fantastic...

I tend to use manual lenses when I'm out by myself and AF when I'm with other people and don't want to be too much the geek with the camera slowing everyone up.
