Personally opinion again tbh, I tried the 5D4 at the photo show last year and it felt more brick like than the Nikons. YMMV of courseMy canon 5d4 ergonimics are way head of sony and Nikon IMO

You're right, I really should, and even bought a couple of luthier made guitars to encourage myself. But I was brought up playing piano and my Bluthner is as seductive as a 21mm loxia

Not for me. I tried the d850 and its massive. Halfway size bigger between the 5d4 and 1dx2 and the grip was harsh and edgy whilst the 5d4 is nicer and smoother on the hands.Personally opinion again tbh, I tried the 5D4 at the photo show last year and it felt more brick like than the Nikons. That's why I said it's all personal preference. My thoughts between the D850 and 5D4 are the exact opposite of yoursNot for me. I tried the d850 and its massive. Halfway size bigger between the 5d4 and 1dx2 and the grip was harsh and edgy whilst the 5d4 is nicer and smoother on the hands.
I honestly like the Sony ergonomics ahead of nikon slightly as it feels smother and nicer in the hand like the 5d4 but not as beefier and gripper as that camera.
Basically I've hated nikon ergonomics for a while
Yea. Tbh the 5d4 is an amazing camera. Gets bashed a lot in here though. In fact no one posts in the Canon threads. That's why I said it's all personal preference. General opinions on the Samyang 50mm? IQ as good as the 35? - not too concerned about AF performance I don’t do anything too taxing.
Going to hedge my bets on a zoom, would prefer the 24-105 if I’m going to buy primes too (although noticed the 24-70 GM is £1700 in a few places today), also keen to wait and see what the Tamron 28-75 brings once its available.
21/35/50/85 seems a decent setup with two bodies - probably want to add a 100-400 for motorsport/long stuff too.
No, I believe the 50 is slower, noisier and not as sharp.

You are better off with FE55 or even FE50 IMO

55mm is a amazing lens had one before. But this time got the 85mm 1.8 this is amazing too lovely and sharp
Yeah the 5D4's a cracking camera. Most modern cameras are though, we're very spoilt these days.Yea. Tbh the 5d4 is an amazing camera. Gets bashed a lot in here though. In fact no one posts in the Canon threads.
Yet it's funny how they still outsell everyone. Just shows the voices in the internet forums mean nothing.
That's cool, has an almost miniature/toy like look to itSony Zeiss 55mm f1.8 gets my vote!! Got to be one of my favorite lenses....

Off-camera Flash Test by dancook1982, on FlickrI am aiming to have my core prime set up for the Sony hopefully by year end.
35/1.4, 50/1.4, 85/1.4 ?????
I am hoping Sony make a Sony Zeiss 85/1.4 but I hardly doubt it with the G-Master out, it’ll be competing against each other. I doubt Zeiss themselves will do one either with the Batis 85/1.8 out. And then there is the 85/1.8………..
Just thinking out loud here, going to disregard the Batis as if I am spending more from the Sony…I might as well go all the way to the G-Master. They are all sharp, they all focus great, size isn’t a concern…..£1k more ????
Or just get the Sony and upgrade when the time comes, did that with the Canon 85/1.8 too….
And so the transition to Sony begins...you will give up your Canon gear eventually
I am hoping Sony make a 50mm f1.4 G Master but doubt it as the Sony Zeiss variant is already available.
Having owned both the Zeiss Batis and G Master 85mm lenses, they both offer certain advantages... for example the Batis is faster to AF being f1.8
