I get that, but it wouldn't do any harm to let the sellers know that you're no longer interested rather than ignoring them, especially if you've agreed to buy it.I received negative feedback from @tattywelshie because his pride got hurt. We all chose to ask questions when we enquire about certain items and we all choose to respond or not, that’s called freedom of speech... and Yes, we can all change our minds. That’s why these threads are littered with people buying into one Brand or another, singing it’s Praises and then moving on to another Brand without a bye or leave.....

Unlike most on here I have a thick skin, so while it may irk me “in the moment’ I move on...
Just seen the thread, if Jonathan said he was going to post it today, he probably did. I imagine there is good reason he hasn’t been on here today but he is a sound guy.
Odd that you came on here to essentially call out one it it’s regular contributors.
I suppose that comes under the "anything else welcome"And the bulk of waffle in this thread is non-productive.

Now that's an example, at least as posted here, of an uncomfortably sharp skyline. Quite unsettling. It's got me on edge ;-).
It looks like a crude cut & paste job.
Bring back film!
We're in the pub, aren't we? The more we drink, the shoutier we get. This thread purported from its title to be about a certain range of camera models - which could be useful, but what happens? People rabbit on vaguely about their shopping ambitions, and are now being shouty in a way that's off-topic to the thread title.
Does it matter? In cosmic terms, no, it doesn't. But some of us are strapped for time & come here to give & to learn. And the bulk of waffle in this thread is non-productive.
Hummm thats a bit disappointing...
Yes it is. Was about to pull the trigger on this lens along with the Sony 85mm f1.8 but that review has out me off somewhat. Now considering the Samyang 35mm f1.4/
Anyone got any experience or views on the Samyang? its £40 chepaer than the Sony 1.8 @ e-infinity.
While I enjoy using my camera I wouldn't miss it, its a replaceable 'thing', I have no real attachment to it, I have a huge attachment to the images I've taken though, or rather the content.
I would watch and read more reviews, personally I think the 35mm f1.8 a great little lensYes it is. Was about to pull the trigger on this lens along with the Sony 85mm f1.8 but that review has out me off somewhat. Now considering the Samyang 35mm f1.4/

Generally true, but overall it's a conspiracy of lenses, sensors and processing engines. And high resolution isn't always a benefit, especially in the digital realm, which can easily incline to the clinical. It seems to me that film, even if of the larger formats, had a certain texture.
In the end, we need to be satisfied by an image emotionally. If an image is just in essence a technical exposition, it's not going to travel far.

It's about communication. Otherwise, why bother? Guts are more important than tech.

Now I don't have a *wide* experience of digital camera kit, but to me the clinicality of an image is all based in the post-processing - it's a choice to make the image appear like that or not.
Now it may be that the camera output happens towards a clinical image - and I would consider that an absolute positive, because it gives the operator many more options than if the camera stomped all over the image - and it may then be that all some users do is set levels & exposure & hit export, so you see a clinical image that appears unsatisfying. Contrary to film, where most people had no choice about their output and only the most skillful and well equiped (or well financed) could do anything significant about shaping their output, we are lucky to have some incredible tools.
Now it may also be that some users ONLY want the crispest, cleanest, best-corrected image possible, and that's fine too. The only time it's a problem is when there's a 'boots enprint' mentality.
Succumbed and ordered a Samyang 18mm f2.8
Hugh Grant using a sony camera in The Gentleman movie (trailer). Surprised it wasn't a canon lol
so which lens and body?![]()
I noticed them using Sony form the trailersOh that's easy. It's a MK1 Sony A7 with Voigtlander 35mm f1.4. A gentleman wouldn't use anything else![]()
I noticed them using Sony form the trailersJust watched Silent Witness last night and they're sticking with Nikon, for now. Wonder how long that will last?

I was checking as I’d asked Jonathan to send to my work address and wanted to let the front desk know to expect something.
I never came on here tonight to call anyone out.

They are popping up a lot in t.v and movies have seen quite a few in the last couple of months. Sony must be really pushing the boat out on product placement.
Well considering they own one of the few large remaining production houses, I wonder why it took them so long lol![]()
