Do ‘we’ think Sigma will eventually bring out ‘dedicated’ FE mount Art primes rather than DSLR ones ‘adapted’ to fit?
Agreed, but would they notice the difference between 1.2 and 1.4/1.8?When the user/client demands the best they will pay for the best
For sure it won’t work for everyone in all circumstances .... and not everyone is a Pro delivering 1000’s of images to a deadlineGood luck trying to consistently apply that process to 1,000+ images in the time you need to deliver them, its cheaper to buy the lens and do it properly. Why would you fake it?!
All your points have been posted by many over the years. When the user/client demands the best they will pay for the best.
I was thinking more 50mm and 85mmLike the 35/1.2?

Am I the only one who is quite content with what they've got?

Probably I’d like a second body (preferably A9-II) to save swapping lenses whilst out and about, a 70-180mm f2.8, 16-35mm f4 and 50mm f1.4 (or faster), then I’ll be happyAm I the only one who is quite content with what they've got?

Happy BirthdayJust need to make my mind up on which longer lens to add. Sigma 100-400 or Tamron 70-180. Once that decision is made I'll be happy for a while.
It's my Birthday today though so if you all want to have a whip round and just buy one or the other or both for me to save me deciding that would be great.

I would expect that whatever way you reduce the amount of light that gets to the sensor would affect the AF in the same way. No empirical evidence to support that but it seems logical!OK numpty question of the day, do ND filters affect AF systems more than low light conditions? I know from past experience that cameras have struggled when I've used a big stopper that they've struggled with AF, but I'm wondering if using a 4 or 5 stop ND filter on a bright sunny day would be any worse than shooting without a filter in dull conditions?
24GM owners..... What's it like to manual focus please? Landscape and Milky Way use so nothing that moves too much...!
Have never used mine in manual focus. Along with the 135GM it’s the best lens I have ever used.

Thanks. my thoughts are the same, diminished light is diminished light regardless of whether it’s filter or just poor light but you never know. The last time I used ND regularly it was to bring the shutter speed down below 1/4000 when taking pictures with wide apertures.
If this is holding you up I could give it a try tomorrow, assuming the light is reasonable.
Let me know if you want me to mount some ND's and report back.
Thank you. I've requested a value on my Voigtlander 21/3.5 (Sony) & Samyang 24/1.4 (Canon) as trade in. With LCE.
Been looking more seriously at the Tammy 70-180mm and just realised there’s no switches on it, so no focus limiter and no AF/MF switch I know you can assign these to Fn buttons on the camera but I don’t, and I like the way the camera is set up now. I wonder why they left these out? I guess cost but as £1349 I’d have expected them tbh.
I thought the camera had focus limiter, must be confusing it with the Nikon, very odd and annoying omission. Hmmm, that could be a deal breaker for me One of the main uses for me is motorsport and with today's health and safety you're mainly shooting through catch fencing.Yes lack of buttons and knobs is a bit annoying. But it has you favourite zoom lock though
Actually there's plenty of space in fn menu and custom buttons to assign these things. Wasn't a deal breaker for me since not all my lenses (and by looks of it not all your lenses) have these switches anyway. So I need to have AF/MF toggle and APS-C crop mode toggle setup anyway.
I did wonder about the focus limiter... So far the AF is quick and snappy that I haven't missed it. I guess the larger 70-200GM has many large elements that's requires moving and hence benefits more from focus limiter. I have no idea why Sony in they their infinite wisdom have decided to omit the in-body focus limiter they have in their a-mount bodies.
If it does become an issue I'll be selling my lens. So far so good.
Hi all,
Had a weird situation today on the new A6400... I took 7 photos of the local air ambulance landing. Based on the camera's default naming convention, the first one is in the correct order, but the next 6 are back to front. i.e. photo 2 is when the chopper is closest to the ground, working back to photo 7 which should be number 2!
Anyone know what causes this? Is it a setting or a glitch?
Thanks.

Woof woof that’d be great if you could, looking at getting a 4-6 stop for the 85mm f1.8 to bring shutter speed down for panning shots.
