Spot meter on the moon. That's what I did and it seemed to work well.
Good luck Lee.
And above all enjoy.

I wonder if these will be like the 45mm f2.8 and designed for bokeh and look rather than class leading sharpness across the frame. If they are I wonder if Sigma have learned from the reported difficulties with continuous focus. It'll be interesting to read the reviews and see the sample pictures. And some really interesting sigma lenses too :O
Like the look of those Sigmas, perfect for the A7C user the aperture ring on the lens, dial on the camera for shutter speed.
So if they're designed for look does that mean they're a bit like an AF version of the Loxias.
Ah but inside small dogs are lions
I’ve got all the toys to go on mine - when it comes. Panamoz say that flights are disrupted by Covid and gave me £50 compensation.Another new toy to go with the A7C. Feels well made, good weight for its size and function as well.

I owned both when I had the 6500. Hardly used the 56 but when I did, it was very sharp. Used the 16mm on all my Ingleborough Cave shots. See my Flickr. Loved it!Question for any Sigma owners, are both the 16mm f1.4 and 56mm f1.4 Sigma any good.

New Viltrox 24, 35 and 50mm f1.8's...
Viltrox just announced the new 24-35-50mm f/1.8 FE autofocus lenses! – sonyalpharumors

we clearly don't have enough 35mm and 50mm options.
they'd have to under cut samyang and sony own cheap options.
Nice, My dog photos above were with the Sigma 16mm F1.4 on aps-c.
Thank you, I do like the 56mm a lot and will try the 16mm soon.
Lovely shots + your previous post. I had to click through to your flickr to view them, they look totally different. . .the forum doesn't do them justice
For me it seems to soften them up. Looses detail. What does it do because I don't seem to see a huge amount of difference? I only looked at the first image but maybe they're all mangled for me

Yeah I was sort of thinking that Dave's new lenses might be faulty, and then you click / view them in flicker it makes a world of difference.
It's not all photos though, so, i guess, some people are doing things differently in order to get the image looking nice on here
