Trust me you don’t want them. While it helps make it slightly easier for goods from Europe goods from the rest of the U.K is a nightmare.

Probably not with Amazon.
It is a quite hit and miss in theory if the item value is below (I think) £125 you won't pay any extra.
I had a poor experience when a seller in Germany declared value over the limit as he included German VAT so I had to pay UK VAT on the net value + German VAT total.
When the item itself was under limit.
I sent in a form to reclaim which worked except still had £10 handling fee from courier I would not have had to pay.
 
Hi, I have a Sony A9 3rd party battery Grip made by NEEWER and it has worked flawlessly, can someone tell me if this will also fit/work on the Sony A7R IV body? I see it will work on the Sony A9 II. Thankyou, Russ.

No A7RIV, A9II, A1 all use VG-C4EM. A9 used VG-C3EM
 
It's happening again. :(

I love the A7 series for form factor - getting this 42 MP full-frame sensor with IBIS/etc in the A7Rii package is fantastic. The IQ is excellent, and APS-C gives a 'free' 1.5x tele. And yet, I hanker for the Fuji X-Tn + XF series for the handling. And to a lesser extent, the film sims.

If Fujifilm did a full-frame X, or if Sony did dedicated dials, I'd be happy. But I don't think either are going to happen.

Or maybe it's just been a weekend where I wasn't happy with any photos, and I'm looking for excuses... :oops: :$

Well you can get Sony lenses with aperture ring. Only think you are missing is the shutter dial? Half way there :D

While Fujis are fine I don't really find them particularly better at handling than Sony's. Nikon FF bodies are really good at handling (at least for me)

Is it time to look at Fuji Medium Format ??

Plus I'd prefer to avoid the heavier, more expensive and harder to find glass needed for medium format!

Hmmm.... there's a tempting X-H1 in the classifieds here.

I have a love/hate relationship with Fuji, I REALLY want to like them but I don't and find them frustrating :oops: :$

I'm delighted with that service. I was expecting at least another week. Hope the lens is as good as I am led to believe from reviews etc. Must get the Tamron up for sale as I doubt I'll use it again and it is cash back in the pot

I believe it is, I'm happy with mine. I'd be interested to know your thoughts on the zoom ring tension.

FYI cameraworld offered me substantially more for my Tamron than anywhere else, £105 better than the nearest (MPB) and £180 better than some :eek:

I've scratched the front element at some point so it won't be worth much. It may well be that it is worth keeping as backup rather than selling as I expect it will only be worth around 500 quid. It is a fantastic lens at that money and for anyone shooting sports at large aperture it will do a great job. Thanks for the tip though

Yes but in some cases it's no extra than you'd have paid before as the company remove the local tax then add our VAT and handle the customs for you. So when I bought from Amazon Germany, the cost I paid to Amazon was the total cost of the item and it shipped as normal although slower than before to clear customs. It seems a real minefield trying to work out costs at different stores in Europe though and I only buy now if it's a lot cheaper or I can't get the item in the UK but it's frustrating given how easy it used to be.

Wow, I didn't realise they were that cheap now. Just looked and still only £679 on e-infin, I got more than that for mine :eek:

Pretty normal for Tamron lenses once they have been available for a year or so they always drop like a stone in price grey import, although they don't drop anywhere near as much in the U.K.

I think it was e-infin that had them for £629, maybe a month or so ago.

TBH following a discussion in the classifieds I've also been surprised how much the 100-400mm GM has dropped :oops: :$

I lost a few quid on that lens too but bought well so it wasn't to disastrous. My main reason for selling was I didn't use it anywhere near as often as the 70-200 range so far better to have the absolute best lens for the lenses that I use most often.

For the money the Tamron 70-180 and Sony 100-400 must be some of the best value second hand lenses on the market. I'm trying to go fully Sony though as I really enjoy the 20fps and hopefully I'll get the 30fps with the A1 this year. It never ceases to amaze me how much action and how different the frames are when you are shooting peak action and every fps helps. I'm also continuing my pursuit of less but the best equipment especially when there is performance benefits and weight advantages. The Sony 70-200 is heavier than the Tamron but I don't like trombone lenses particularly if you are shooting in all weathers and it will double as the 100-400 with Teleconverters.

It's surprising how light the 70-200mm GM II feels actually.

I imagine with that one it is because it's an old design that isn't as popular any more, most people that want a longer lens will probably opt for the 200-600 rather than the 100-400,

The Tamron for less than £700 has to be very good value for money.
