Yeah. I’m researching the various grey import sites and try to pick the most reliable one. I saw a topic about it so will read that first.

In the old days I ordered from a shop in Hongkong (forget the name ) and that went well.

So I guess if and when I buy something new I will buy it grey. Saves a lot and as it seems that I will start over again with all my stuff, the more I save the more I buy extra . I saved up already . In the market for a new body and at least 2 lenses if Fuji doesn’t have an amazing xt-6.

This weekend I have a canon lended to me so I will check that out too.

I’m curious about that one too. According to reviews they are close (D6M3)

But seriously. It’s a big decision. Lots of money so I want to take a well informed decision. So I’m taking my time.

I’d only buy from Panamoz now. I recently had a bad experience with Cotswolds, and e-infinity warranty repairs aren’t done in the UK (last time I checked).

Panamoz usually offer you a lower price than their advertised one if you ask them what their best price is.

I don't think it's worth worrying about taking £30 difference at the minute I think. Well worth it for the better service. I generally use Panamoz for bodies and E-Infinity for lenses.

Well I’ve been offered gear with much more than £30 off the advertised price, but even £30 would be welcome and better in my pocket than theirs

I'd check where warranty repairs are carried out, I know in the UK Panamoz and Cotswolds repair in the UK but e-infinity go back to Hong Kong (last time I checked) but it might be different in your country

I used Cameriz last month for a Sony A1 II. It took 12 days from placement of order to delivery and was well worth the wait. DHL kept me informed of progress once the package was in their system. I currently have a Sony 100-400 and 1.4 TC on order with them. They are certainly worth considering.

I’ve had a couple of lenses and the A7R 6 from them, all delivered in 12 to 14 days with Fedex. Seems to take 2 or 3 days to “despatch” then another couple of days for Fedex to pick up the parcel. No issues so far, hopefully Cameriz will be ok if any issues with the kit but stuff is pretty reliable nowadays- as I touch wood

I've not regretted buying it and paired it with Sony's FE 40mm f/2.5g, which has dual focusing motors so it can keep up with the A7V's blazing fast AF and what an AF system it is. I thought my old A9 was fast! It's a nice compact and lightweight combination, so it will be ideal for walking around with and this was a major box I wanted to tick. I did think about the A7RVI, but as I like to do panoramic and exposure blends and don't really crop aggressively, then I probably don't need a 67MP sensor and the extra strain on my editing computer.

The Sony 40mm f2.5 is a favourite of mine and I also have the similar 25mm f2.8 G. When I'm not carrying much else I take my A7cII and 40mm and also my A7III and 24mm, it saves changing lenses while out. My man maths tells me the two Sony's are only a smidgin heavier than my old Canon 5D and Sigma 50mm f1.4.

Do you ever reduce the photo size before stitching?

I usually don't but have done sometimes as I don't need a massive picture other than for the joys of diving in and looking around a picture and if I can avoid that what is still a large picture made up of reduced size pictures is really enough.

That's odd, I have the M1 Macbook Pro and lightroma nd photoshop are very fast for me, and that's with 50 megapixel files. What RAM do you have?

I now really on use LR CC and it can take a while for images to render fully, seem slightly better since the last update but other time can take 3-4 seconds for me to get the full detail.
the ram is nearly always running at about 12gb used regardless of what I do and often maxes, I've factory reset 2 months ago and cleared the HD with little improvement(this could also be why the render quicker)
that image was made of nearly 60 tiff images and it had a meltdown and crashed LR, I reduced it to 32 I think and it still struggled.

Oh! You've got an editing computer You just reminded me of my other big purchase I need to make - my system is older than my D5300...struggles a bit with 4k video & gaming. I'm patiently waiting on the next round of GTX cards to come out but the 2 year gap between the 5xxx & the 6xxx doesn't look likely anymore. Bummer but nevermind, perhaps it will allow me to save even more as I'll need a ton of memory for it. (Still thinking of the V rather than the R VI - unless there's more price drops just after Christmas??)

Ahh right, yeah 16GB RAM isn't really enough for LR these days. I know Adobe recommend 16GB but it's not enough when batch processing and other heavy duty tasks, I think 32GB is the new minimum. I've got 64GB which was the most I could get at the time so I've still got plenty of breathing room, however with the increasing "AI" processing it's only a matter of time before 64GB isn't enough and I'l be needing 128GB. The think is the latest MBP's with decent spec are crazy expensive. They've always been expensive but now to get something better than I have you're looking at £5k or more

I regret not buying one in China this year. They haven’t had the price increases we saw this year due to the price of parts increasing, which made the old 2/300 price saving far more.
I may order one before we go next year as I’m not sure I would have enough to wait on a custom spec being made.

I didn't know we'd had a price increase this year, I've just spec'd one up going one level up on each aspect over what I have now and the price is bonkers, looks like I could be forced back to windows in the future

And I've just noticed they want £8k for a laptop and they even have a cheek to say the power adapter isn't inlcuded

china prices have risen now, base model is 1750, but I can get 20% back on tax (1400 after tax back)

The ssd I bought last year is more than double the price now
