Just found my late grandfathers bill from 1995 how things have changed.

Last time I shelled out for one (as an executor) for a burial and service, it was just under £4k (about 12 years ago)

my wifes mum got cremated 2 years ago and the total was £5k , i think the coop was cheap in 1995
 
If I remember correctly, my Mum's funeral in 2004 was about £3,000 to £3,500. Incidentally, it was at the same crematorium as the above bill.

cool, we have a house in Mirfield , but spend a lot of time in Spain now, will be moving perm next year.

I had to arrange something similar 3 years ago, local crem with service, just over £1900. About £850 of that was the crematorium charge, which the local authority increases by 10% every year, probably because they can and because people have no other choice.
