Whats the link/theory between Nikon and 'the dark side'

Not sure for definite where this came from - but my guess is that Nikon don't use silly white lenses, hence they use 'dark' ones :shrug:

This is a guess based on my (poor) memory.
Nikon may have been first with all black 35mm SLR cameras.
I could, of course, be entirely wrong here.

Only joking, I think that it is as above, they simply went down the route of colour to differentiate between brands. Canon went for white and Nikon black...
