I love the 90 on the H1 so with the T4 it should be great. I’m going to give the T4 upgrade a miss as I’m happy with my current bodies for now. Plus this whole virus issue has made me think about what I need rather than want! Enjoy your new toy and I’ll look forward to seeing images.

Despite being not very interested in the t4 since it was announced I’ve sort of decided I need one now. Might be furlough-inspired boredom talking perhaps but I do think it would make the 16-55 the perfect walk around lens for me. I’ll wait a while though ‘cos, as already mentioned, Fuji will start discounting, offering trade in deals and giving free accessories in a few months as per the norm. I’ll enjoy reading people’s opinions on the t4 until then.
 
As it looks like everyone had kinda settled into this lockdown now. I`m thinking about reverting the challenge back to one theme a week. Is that ok with everyone?
 
Ok so back to one theme now, and it`s "Tools" :D

Which can actually be, tools for anything. Tools for cooking, tools for mounting, tools for tooling. Any sort of tool really.

From what I've seen you've shot some very nice images last few weeks ;) we all feel that way about our own stuff at times though, my mojo ran away months ago - I have a peep out the window every now and then see if might return :D
 
Does anyone have any idea when the Viltrox 33mm 1.4 Fuji mount will become available in the UK? I see they are shipping it from China now, but only with the promise of delivery sometime between June and July

I've been struggling for the last few weeks, mainly due to lack of time and a little motivation with all that is gong on. It is looking like we will be reducing our operation further next week, which should mean me moving to one shift rather than the current double shifts I am doing. If that is the case I should be able to get some free time. A day off would be a good start! :)

I found that little mini projects help here, I've just shot one with images taken over a 7 day period on my daily walks - I've not gone far as the initial walks were on on crutches, I set some limitations for the project - distance from my house, format of images, camera used, and found it challenged me to take 'interesting' pictures. I've then processed the images, curated them, selected a subset of them and built a zine - which I sent off to be printed and I now have two copies of a 16 page zine on my desk in front of me.

Getting the zine printed cost me £1.80 using Mixam's test print facility. For me it was a test print, as I actually want to re-work this into a different format zine. Its very rewarding having a booklet of your own images in a physical format.

I've noticed there is a Firmware update for the XF55-200 to version 1.21. This is suppose to fix minor bugs! Has anybody done the upgrade and if so have you noticed anything different?

Speaking about my XT2 + 55-200, I'm of the opinion if it ain't broke then don't fix it.......I was just intrigued what the 'minor' bugs were.

Done it but haven't had much of a chance to test it as I am stuck in for 12 weeks. All seems to function as it did but maybe it solves one of the little bugs that we didn't notice or put down to user error.

Nothing wrong with this George. Beautiful image and gorgeous colour. Would be well happy with this!
 
Seems like pretty much everywhere has the XT-4 in stock so a different scenario to when the XT-3 was launched.

Combination of severe economic downward pressure for a lot of people and many existing XT-3 owners not interested in IBIS in my opinion.
 
Guessing if you are someone that likes to buy face to face you will wait - not like you are going to be able to put a new camera through its paces.
Then as you say people on Furlough whether thats supported or not and the potential recession to come as a result of the current situation will be making people hold off purchasing.
I currently dont see where IBIS would be of massive benefit to me personally, may be 10% of what I shoot. Also love the screen the way the xt3 has it compared to the xt4 style. Im not being ultra fruggle with spending but also not planning on any big spends or luxury purchases until we get an idea of whats going to happen post COVID
 
I`ve got everything I need with my T2 and H1
If anything, I have a slight hankering for a 100-400, but know it`ll hardly get used, so am ok with that, so probably will never get one. Plus I mostly shoot static stuff, and have no need for video (wouldn`t even know how lol).

i think for a lot of people it won't be a considerable upgrade coming from a t3. Jurys still out of the focus system and at over £1500 theres a lot of competition. does look good though, and great video specs.

The X-T4 AF is very fast, noticeable faster than an X-T3 and quite a step up from X-H1/X-T2 - if thats what is important along with IBIS then its the body for you. ALso if you shoot video and want to shoot Fuji then its the highest spec video offering - at least for the moment.

That`s a beautifully taken image George, today I`m going to try my lighting I got ages ago even though it`s not great but it`s a nice way to start learning.

Finally got ot play with the X-T4 last night after leaving it in the box all day whilst I got my work done.

First impressions are, theres alot of menus different to my X-T2 so getting it to match in terms of controls took me most of the night :)

In terms of AF performance. It's night and day when compared to the X-T2 so i'm chuffed about that. Also the IBIS for handheld photography is very impressive. Not really tested the video out much as i'm a noob when it comes to that. So will have a play with that tonight after i've watched some videos on how best set it up for video.

The other thing to note is it feels so much chunkier than the X-T2 and alot more solid. Lenses are much tighter to get on and all the dials and nobs have a defined click to them. The AF-on button is nice though I take a little getting used to the placement as I was usuing my command dial as Back button focus on the X-T2.

Being able to use the touch screen to select AF point whilst looking through the viewfinder is very good.

Battery Life, well I pretty much drained the battery last night but I was in the menus all night, and had bluetooth on permenatnetly and it was transferring shots to my phone, so cant comment on real world usage yet. Much bigger battery though, and reminds me of the ones i used to have in my Nikon days :)

Very impressed so far :)

Cheers for posting your thoughts, glad you’re enjoying the camera. I’m an XT2 user as well and the IBIS and touch screen would make a really nice and, dare I say it - justifiable, upgrade. Most of my stuff is handheld landscapes and the 16-55 isn’t the best for a lazy shooter like me who is sometimes too idle to unpack the tripod. :p

I‘m sticking with what I’ve got at the minute, more to do with how the world is at present - I’ll wait and see if I’ve still got a job by autumn before spending on gadgets. The upgrade is defo on the cards though, just a case of when.
