The Fabulous Fuji X owners thread

I've paid no attention to kit for a couple of years and just thought I'd like to upgrade my X100S to either a V or an X Pro 2 or 3. WTF has happened? The X100V seems to be out of stock everywhere and XP2's are pretty thin on the gound.
Is this a temporary thing or what?

Ffordes had both colours in stock yesterday, they also had a used one for £1149 too. Just checked, all gone now though.

Has anyone had any experience with third party batteries? It's not something I've used in the past. I just want an external charger for my batteries and there's some very cheap chargers and batteries on the rainforest. Just wondering if it's worth the hassle.

I probably could have moved it, but it is representative as the room was still in daily use as a control room 7 years ago!!

I think that the point is, either stick it in the picture or move it out of view. But don't leave it half cropped in the shot as it is distracting and looks a bit tonk.
Fascinating place to go, though!

I used expro batteries on my X-T1 without issue, and currently use Patona batteries in my X-T3 - also without issue.

The latter came with a little usb powered dual charger, which would be SUPER useful, if it worked...

I've got a DuraPro battery and dual charger for my X-T4. I think it was £20 for the pair from Amazon. I've got two Fuji batteries so this is my emergency backup if I need it at the end of a long day of shooting. I have used it a couple of times and the camera accepts it no problem. It doesn't have the same capacity as the Fuji batteries so doesn't last as long. The dual charger is ok but really slow.

When I switched to Fuji in 2018, I bought a white 3rd party battery, which I alternated with the Fuji battery that came with my camera. 4 years later the third-party battery died, but the Fuji battery is still going strong. I replaced it with a second Fuji battery.

I’ve had a 3rd party one balloon on me. But I have no problem getting them since they are cheap enough and a few years use is acceptable.

I've had a few 3rd party batteries and just one which ballooned, suspect it ballooned whilst being charged but would be a bigger problem if it happened whilst in the camera

I`d be mindful of third party batteries. I`ve had xpro swell up on me, which was a bugger to get out of the camera. So now I shall only be using Fuji ones.

Burt which did you choose? ;)

Those reddish ones look interesting.

Thank you kindly Paul, appreciate your reply.

"None of them as I don't eat that sort of stuff" :) :)

I notice when the battery didn't fall out of the camera when i went to charge it.

Thanks guys. I rarely use a second battery in my sony cameras and prefer an external charger so £16 for a charger and 2 batteries seemed silly cheap. Guess I best stick to genuine.

I've just had a look at those online.

Seriously cool idea for charging batteries in the field (quite literally in my case).

That’s exactly why I bought it :)
What exactly is it?

Is it a portable power pack but with battery charging points built in?

Or is it a cheaper version of Fujis official charger and a power pack being used as well.

Appears both are in the shot so trying to figure out!

If the former then definitely sounds interesting.

Have you a link?

Nitecore is a well known brand of chargers. They specialise in li-on chargers for a number of years. The model in question is the FX3, made for fujifilm batteries (XT4, XT5, XH2 and 2S). The charger tells you the state of the battery, temperature of the cells, etc… a fraction of the fujifilm charger, but better. On the left side is a Veho 30000MAh battery pack, old companion for long days…

So the latter set up then.

I was getting excited at the prospect of an all in one power pack and charger!

I already have the Fuji BC-W235 for home use and I have an Anker Powercore 20000 PD that I take out with me but had never considered a mobile setup like you shown.

Thanks for clarifying.

Edit: looks a nice little charger though and looks to be a smaller option to take out vs the BC-W235.

Might grab one in the new year.

If anyone wants one, John Lewis seem to have the xh2s online for £1919 at the moment! That seems a very low price. Only 20 quid more than the xh2!
Good old Fujifilm shafting loyal customers that upgrade at release as usual.

Which is the more advanced camera? H2 or H2s? I know the S has smaller sensor but that’s about it.

The sensors are the same size. At a base level, the h2s is designed for speed whereas the h2 has much higher resolution.

More new camera purchase musing....

So original plan was to get a X-Pro2 but I can't justify getting something that I know i won't use much...I was thinking getting an A7R3 to get something for travelling, which brought me to.....X-T5.

Smaller body for travel.
Cutting edge tech and AF.
40mp for cityscape and landscape and street.
I already have the 3 lenses that i want.

More expensive but I think a used or refurbished one from the Fuji store would be the way to go.

Or even an X-T4, I can see them under £900 now used if i don't need the 40mp sensor.

X-T4 is surprisingly large for an XT body

I've succumbed to temptation, so definitely selling my XT4. More info in classifieds. We're around and about over the next week, so there will be a little bit of delay before I can send it on! Really excited for the XH2S - I don't really need the extra megapixels in general (though pixel shift would have been great for digitising MF negs) and the VF sounds awesome!

The H2s is a stacked sensor.
Also regarding the X-T, I personally wouldn't buy another 4 unless the prices drop. As a Sony user you will be frustrated with it. I think I'd rather have another X-T30 over one for a travel camera,

Frustrated in what way?
