The Fabulous Fuji X owners thread

Third time lucky - I finally have an L bracket that works with my X-H2s and Peak Design tripod head. It is a Sunwayfoto bracket. JLWin and Smallrig brackets coming to the classifieds section soon... Both brackets seem OK, but don't seem to play nicely with my main tripod.

I learnt a new phrase the other day, courtesy of @bl0at3r - PBWA! I do that all the time, just didn't realise it :)

I had to take a couple of guitars to Croydon on Tuesday, so I took my camera and made a day of it. All from my X-T4 with the 35/1.4 and a K&F 1/4 black mist filter. Colour shots are all the Lisa Portinari recipe I've been enjoying lately, and the mono is the Fuji X Weekly Tri-X 400.

Okay, decision made. 10-24 ordered from Fleabay... :)
Annoyingly, it arrived today and it’s faulty. Screen (or viewfinder) flicks on and off for a few seconds and then it comes up with “Lens Error”.

Return is all arranged; eBay say they’ll issue my refund as soon as its dropped off at the Post Office, which is handy. I knew the price of this one was too good to be true!

Oh what a pita. Glad eBay sort the refund out pronto.

Well I dropped it off at the post office today and the refund has already been issued, so that's pretty cool.
And I've got one on the way from MPB that was about the same price, but looks to be in better condition and includes a hood, which I didn't realise was missing from the first one, so hopefully it's all going to work out quite nicely!

Dry in the morning, and the car we all really wanted to see - 1994 Volvo 850

Touring Car Rewind - Volvo 850 (1 of 1) by David Yeoman, on Flickr
I remember watching Rickard Rydell dominate in this at Donington, I always preferred the SIlver and BLue S40 though. I can also remember everyone laughing when Volvo said they were entering the touring cars but they soon had egg of their face ;)

My favourites were the E30 M3 and Sierra RS500 Cossy.

And for those that might be interested, with the X-H2S, using ES and shooting bursts (with some pixel peeping) and a lot of tracking I got 7000 shots out of the NP-W235 battery before it came up red, and I changed it.
7000 shots at one event, that's a lot of culling

2 hours with Fast RawViewer, it’s new to me so there are probably shortcuts once I’m more familiar - down to 350 shots!!

Just as well I dropped the burst speed from 40fps to 20fps at the start- probably will try 10fps next time
Yeah, I never use 30fps on my A1 for that reason, I tend to shoot at 15-20fps. Why people want 120fps is beyond me

I’m blaming you for putting this “need” back in my head. My widest lens is the 18 f2 but sometimes it’s just not wide enough so I don’t use it very often

Initially I was thinking about the Viltrox 9mm but now I’m thinking about getting rid of my 18mm and 50mm f2 ( used that twice in 18 months ) and getting the 10-24 instead as it’d be more convenient than a prime

Perhaps..

I’m happy to shoulder than burden! Apologies though :)

I had the EF-M 11-22mm used on the EOS M6 mk2, it was very useful for the narrow streets of Valletta and Dubrovnik but I still reached for the iPhone for very wide shots, now I have the XT4 I have access to a wider range of off brand lenses, the 9mm Viltrox is very appealing. Though I do need a clear out of EF and EFM lenses before I get too invested in another system.

That’s the “issue”, it’s so easy to just use my phone instead as I only put photos in Insta. I prefer the extra details in the files of a camera though, as well as the “experience” of using one.

My thinking with the 10-24 is that the internal zoom means it's easy to set it to 24mm and almost use it as a prime, but still have the wider option if necessary (I think someone else mentioned using it like this a couple of pages ago, too).

I'm exactly the same as you Damian; I don't need ultimate image quality, I'm only shooting to please myself, but I love the whole experience of using a camera, and using a phone just leaves me stone cold.

How are you finding it just taking the camera out without the additional lenses?
I've always tended to just take one lens out at a time anyway, but I'm really enjoying shooting with the single focal length and the weight reduction is very welcome. I wish I'd done it sooner.

Nice set Kerry.

PBWA is what I do - don’t have any particular style or genre

Took me a while to figure out what PBWA meant, urban dictionary brings up something completely different

I think most of us do this to some extent, I've certainly started doing it more recently.
