I use an Alpaka Flight Sling 2L IIRC for my xe1.I haven't had a chance to post any photos yet because I've been so busy, but I'm very much enjoying the X100VI
What shoulder bags do we like for it? My PM Sling is a bit overkill, something smaller would be better. I'm thinking probably some sort of top loader like those Lowepro ones may do the trick?
Think Tank Mirrorless Mover 5 V2, perfect fit for the X100VI with the Hoage Square hood attached.I haven't had a chance to post any photos yet because I've been so busy, but I'm very much enjoying the X100VI

I use a Domke F-901 pouch which is a belt bag, works nice and I can put a spare battery & card in the bottom the camera sits on top of them ever-ready.I haven't had a chance to post any photos yet because I've been so busy, but I'm very much enjoying the X100VI

Isn’t that what a wife’s handbag’s for?I tend to go with a larger bag even if its for one camera, as I like to be ablle to carry other stuff (glasses, water bottle, space for purchases, maybe a book if I'm going by train, lightweight waterproof if reqd. I've laways found small bags just to run out of space. Billingham Hadley Pro is my weapon of choice. THis serves all m y photowalks whether I'm taking one camera or two (my Rolleiflex or Makina 670 will fit alongside a Q3/X100 happily)
That said I often just take the camera naked on a long neckstrap that I can wear crossover

I carry mine across my front when in busy areas or you can always get a couple of locksWhilst on the subject of bags, are there any slings that have secure/lockable fastenings to prevent ‘pick pockets’ when in big cities or on travels? I find slings more comfortable but as they tend to be on your back they’re a bit vulnerable to someone accessing them without you knowing. My current travel bag has very loud velcro which makes it obvious if someone’s trying to get in, but slings all seems to be zips
Her handbags got her Leica in itIsn’t that what a wife’s handbag’s for?
Most of my stuff goes in my pockets, sunglasses go on my head (obviously) and if I need a drink I’ll just buy one

Plenty of good shots as you walk along the Tyne in centre-city.The X100VI has arrived, big shoutout to @imattersuk for an excellent transaction.
I'm off to Newcastle for work on Monday, so that works out quite nicely![]()
I didn’t get time to do much while I was there this time. I agree though, it’s a great city.Plenty of good shots as you walk along the Tyne in centre-city.
My Vanguard backpack had loops that you can put the zip tags through which makes them tricky to open; I don't know if they do that on their slings?Whilst on the subject of bags, are there any slings that have secure/lockable fastenings to prevent ‘pick pockets’ when in big cities or on travels? I've got a Domke F-6 which I really like - and I agree, part of the charm is that it doesn't look like a camera bagWhen I take out my Finepix X100 plus 28mm adaptor and three batteries I use the Domke waxed bag. A bit overkill but I love this bag , my son's bought me this for my 50th birthday present. Good thing is it looks nothing of any value etc blend in a bit
Creature of the Night by Paulie-W, on FlickrI haven't got much experience with the 40mp sensor, but the Viltrox Air range are excellent lenses, I'm sure they'll be fine. After some advice please ! I had pretty much decided on buying an X-T5 or X-T50 but the demands placed on lenses by that 40mp sensor has made me wonder if a used X-T4 might be better ?
I was thinking of going for the 16-50 f2.8 and maybe a Viltrox 9 or 15mm - are these good enough for the 40mp sensor ?
Thanks
I tried the 16-50mm f2.8 on the X-T5 and the files looked great to me. Admittedly I didn’t put my lab coat on but the detail looked good. After some advice please ! I am very pleased with the Viltrox 9mm on my X-T4, though not 40MP and I am easily pleased. You are welcome to search Viltrox or 9mm on my Flickr if you like. - Actually don't do that I have not key worded the lens. After some advice please ! My Canon FD 50 mm f3.5 macro that is 50 years old is good enough for the 40mp sensor so any modern lens will be!After some advice please ! I had pretty much decided on buying an X-T5 or X-T50 but the demands placed on lenses by that 40mp sensor has made me wonder if a used X-T4 might be better ?

Bear in mind also that Fuji don't recommend the 16-80mm F/4 for the 40mp sensor, yet they sell the X-T5 with that lens as a kit.@justa1972 - Fuji started off designing X- mount lenses for a minimum of 36MP, most of it will meet or be very close to resolving to 40MP and certainly on colour images (and not @snerkler ‘s lab coat test charts) in the real world you are unlikely to see any issues.
Yes if you want ‘ultimate’ resolution one of the Fuji list if compatible 40MP sensor lenses will give better results than one that isn’t on the list.
I found that the 16-80mm f4 was soft at the 80mm end even stopped down and that was noticeable on my XT3. The 16-55mm f2.8 mki and mkii are both really good lenses on my XT5.Bear in mind also that Fuji don't recommend the 16-80mm F/4 for the 40mp sensor, yet they sell the X-T5 with that lens as a kit.
There does seem to be a fair bit of pattern variance with the 16-80. I really like mine, and when I borrowed a 16-55 (mk1 version) on a Fuji photowalk I didn't really notice much difference. I've seen examples online though where the 80mm end (and the corners at all focal lengths) are not great.I found that the 16-80mm f4 was soft at the 80mm end even stopped down and that was noticeable on my XT3. Yep I wear an old hat and camouflage jacket when out honestly nobody gives me a second look when carrying my photography kit.I've got a Domke F-6 which I really like - and I agree, part of the charm is that it doesn't look like a camera bag![]()

Generally, any zoom lenses that are more than 3x the widest focal length are likely to have some compromised. Hence we have 24-70 and 70-200 in FF because at under 3x the designers can manage the compromises.
The Fjui 16-55s being the exceptions to the rule.
