Sorry but you are completely wrong here!
Spitting IS an assault and is treated as such by the police (I know cos I know people who work in custody and if anyone is ever spat at by a detainee then they are charged with assault)
Also if someone is spat in the eye and the person spitting has HIV then it is known fact that spitting in the eye is one of the easiest ways to transmit HIV or any other infections onto another person, so in this case spitting is certainly on a par if not worse than biting.

It's not so much the red I have a problem with as the punishment relative to other things that are let go and in particular the red card for Kompany that was overturned.
How is it right that a player who meant to trap the ball but slipped and clumsily went over the top worthy of a 3 match ban, but stamping a player on the ground or a knee high challenge that hospitalises and ends a player's season is excusable?
The red itself is understandable because it could have done some damage, but relative to the other things we've seen ignored or forgiven it's actually relatively minor.

Not to mention more than a few United fans who left before the final whistle, presumably to get on the last train headed down south
Thing is, you are probably right. Although having now watched the game my wife recorded on sky I can see why you got that. I mean, after all when the players left the pitch the sky cameras went over board as usual. Still quite a few people who go to get some kip before work at daft o'clock. There is still a strong amount of working class men doing early / late shifts at that ground. Especially in the Stretford End.
My hands goes out to ANY football fan who goes regularly. Especially regularly.

Shouldn't every incident be looked at in isolation? :shrug: An incident either deserves, nothing, a yellow or a red. To put the idea into Ref's minds that one decision was or was not given previously, and this isn't as 'bad', and so changes the decision making process somehow is wrong imho. What if all the Ref's don't see the same incidents? :shrug: Obviously human nature will probably do that anyway, but it shouldn't be encouraged or be an excuse why a decision wasn't given.
Match officials will make mistakes, they only see something once (or not) and in real time after all, but there is no excuse for the FA not to make the correct decisions later. The Suarez incident highlights this perfectly, the officials apparently saw nothing. :shrug: A few of the 26 cameras covering the game luckily caught the incident. Ironically the the officials not seeing it leaves the route clear for a large Suarez ban and fine. The 'not being able to over rule the Ref' rule if he has seen an incident, needs to be abolished of course, but there doesn't seem to be any sign, or even discussion of that. :shake:
Question the incorrect decisions, not the correct ones. Giroud's 'tackle' was a dangerous foul and deserved a red. Worse decisions having not being given is irrelevant to the Giroud incident imho. :shrug:

The fact is though that the FA didn't act in all these other cases.
Back to Suarez, why the witch hunt? Defoe did similar and barely mentioned.

Not saying he is whiter than white, but it was one offence on sun, 3 game ban, end of. Players should get punished equally.

I disagree. I'm firmly of the belief that the rules themselves don't matter so much as the consistent enforcement of whatever the rules may be. It's no good if the ref has an idea of what's fair/foul one game but another ref or another game has a different view.
Don't mistake this for a criticism of the refs though. It's not. They have a hard job, made worse by the way the FA hangs them out to dry when they make a mistake. If they embraced the fact that humans aren't perfect and sought to iron out those mistakes retrospectively then it relieves the pressures on them from players, clubs, fans and media for officials to get everything correct all the time.
The fact something has been allowed before but not in this instance is wrong. As I said earlier, I don't disagree with the red - given the way his leg made contact - but to get a 3 match ban for a dangerous tackle when tackles far more dangerous - some resulting in serious injury - and some violent tackles have had a blind eye turned to because the officials saw them once in real time, perhaps only from their peripheral vision; is just not right. It's not fair on the officials, the players involved, or the clubs and it needs to change.

Suarez, because he's the one that attempts to cheat, deceive or mame in almost every game he plays, which is a shame as he's a great striker. Barton is just thick and a useless footballer.

I don't care enough about either of them to go as far as 'hating' them.
Out of the two though - I probably find Suarez more disgusting. Barton is just a thug whist Suarez's actions are very sly and made worse by the fact he then makes out to be the victim.
I don't mean this in a sarcastic way but Suarez clearly has something wrong with him and Liverpool must have a 'duty of care' responsibilty.

Actually, thought he should have been booked for provocation, and showed what little respect he has for fellow professionals. It's no different to Adebayor (sp?) running to the Arsenal fans when he scored for City. Lack of respect!

Incredible display from Bayern. Not a team of players I like but you have to give the club respect for the incredible side they've built. The combination of speed, technical ability, physical presence, tactical awareness, discipline and hard work is just too much for most sides.
A 3-3 result over two legs in Arsenal's clash with them looks even more respectable in light of how Barca were utterly overwhelmed today.
They're not two sides I like particularly but it was an excellent match to watch.

Bayern certainly sent out a message - I only caught it from 60 mins so hard to get a feel for the whole match.
Like most neutrals I imagine, am hoping for Dortmund win in the final, should they get there.

Twas a fantastic performance and result for Bayern tonight.
I fancied them to win but with Barca getting an away goal - 2:1 or 3:1
4:0 could well be tie over but you just never know with Barcelona.

He is the hero of a mid table side at the moment. Lets just say, there are several clubs in a better position than the one suarez plays for, so they should be and probably are quite happy with him staying where he is

We're a fickle bunch when it comes to players and our teams.
If I was a Liverpool fan, I'd still be pretty disgusted with the various things he's done over the years but I'd still want him to be at the club.
It would never happen but (speaking hypothetically) would I be happy to have Suarez at United next season. Absolutely not.
It's always easy to condone the actions of players representing other teams and with Suarez it's even easier.

As I've said many times before, I'd be massively disappointed if we signed him. The damage he'd do to the club's reputation would be far worse than any benefit we may get from his talent. Fortunately, I'm pretty certain he's precisely the type of personality Wenger also avoids like the plague.

In other words, in order to try and mitigate Gnasher's behaviour, Carragher has listed all the violent/controversial things Liverpool players have done in the past!! Including Souness punching a Romanian and breaking his jaw and even talking about Stevieee G's affray charge (from which he was found not guilty)
I guess LFC and his team mates will understand what he was trying to do

My thought on Duncan? You know, I didn't actually like him as a player, as good and influential as he could be, but his behaviour wasn't befitting of the club. Didn't expect that reply, did you, seeing as Big Dunc is hailed a "hero"?
