I found this body floating in my pond when I got home today

I thought it was long gone, but after a while it twitched and tried to lift itself out of the pond, so I thought i'd better rescue it:

I held it in the sunlight to dry out and it began to perk up a bit:

Eventually it's wings dried up enough for it to lift them, and it looked ready to take flight:

But it just wandered around on my hand for a while, so I thought I'd put it somewhere safe:

All the above where taken with my new wide-angle lens, which I'm pleased to say was able to take a small extension tube to get closer focusing. I also had chance to try out my new 135mm prime. An old FD lens that cost me all of £13 :)

I doubt the poor butterfly will survive the night. It was looking pretty ragged, but I left it in the hope it would manage at least one last flight.

Awesome Timmy glad you found it a safe spot. Should maybe put a bit of sugar water out for it. ;)

They are beauties think you could increase the saturation a little to really show off their wonderful blue.

You have made excellent use of the 11-22mm me want the sigma 18-35 even more now.

#3 is my favorite as it's giving you puss in boots eyes :D

Great story - the photos tell it themselves.
