Cheers Paul
Bit of another "none weather" day today, dull dreary and overcast
Light breeze and around the 2oC mark
Afternoon Chris and everyone reading this bit from a just as dull, damp and dreary Folkestone.
RJL more or less summed it up, but here's my take on things as far as the coming week is concerned.
As we go into next week, it's really a case of waiting for that pool of very cold air over Eastern Europe to work it's way westwards towards the UK - but it's all in the wind direction when this cold pool arrives at the UK.
If winds comes in from the E or SE then it is most likely to turn bitter cold but may well stay dry and bright since it'll be coming in from the continent.
If the wind comes in from the NE then convective snow furries will bubble up over the North Sea and then they go onto affecting the Eastern side of the UK.
So with all that in mind, it does look like the first half of the week will be mostly dry and bright but becoming very cold for most places, although it will tend to be rather cloudy with rain, sleet and hill snow over the Western side of the UK.
Then there is a risk of snow showers coming in from the North Sea to affect Eastern Scotland, Eastern England and the South East as we wear on into the second half of the week and into the weekend. But it's all in the wind direction where some areas could cop it and others will miss out on it completely.
Anyway, be safe whatever the outcome is as we go into the week.
