Are we talking about the silver coloured bit, or the black thing behind it :shrug: :D
 
The body cap is a nice looking peice of kit, not that I use a body cap that often t is just so over engineeered for what it is and does its just more weight to carry round I think.
 
Have you seen the price!??!

I'd want an Apple logo on it at the very least.
 
There are some things that simply should not be inserted into a camera body... and this little gadget prevents it happening :naughty:

:thinking:What do you expect - it's for a Canon after all - seems that they cant compare with our Nikon's :naughty: so they decide to bring out useless crap instead...

its only on there when there is no lens on.....

so basically when its in your bag...

so the only people who would ever see it are the people who go into your bag. ie nobody else :suspect::shrug::shake::thinking::cuckoo::bang:

I came across your product and wondered if you could tell me what the point of it is? It\'s a cap for the camera but why should I buy it and use it instead of the cap I already have that came with the camera? Thanks Joe

I am a well recognized cinematographer, and use digital cameras from 15 years in many commercial/feature film productions (was a commercial photographer in the past for a long time).


Every serious professional camera in the film industry has a serious camera body cap, because the camera when is not shooting has a sealing/protecting body cap.....lenses stay in the case.....and cameras in other cases....

The plastic cap is not enough for a heavy duty film industry use......same for professional photographers that had a camera case separate from the lens case......(they own many lenses and don't keep a lens on the body!!!)


The Lock Circle is exactly like a lens.....bayonet mount with a locking pin......no dust (original cap is NOT SEALING the body from the elements) and stays fixed* and locked until you push the pin release button on the camera body.

Is a serious locking cap for people that understand how important is......and this is why we are selling many worldwide to very important guys!

Awaiting your order......sure you will be so happy......and pretty sure you look back to the plastic cap like a frisby to launch to your dog in the field........(IS A SERIOUS PIECE OF GEAR DESIGNED BY PROFESSIONALS)

Its metal, got big holes, round, knurled, silver and looks like on of those stick on aircraft petrol caps.

Its the most amazing of things ..... i want one ... i can put it next to my buttonere and ktel fluffaway .... skyhooks and skirtingboard ladder :)

I'm looking at this picture, and I'm not seeing anything that looks like the rubber gasket on the back of my lenses...

It locks, yes, but it looks no more sealed than the plastic ones. :thumbsdown:

That's actually a real shame. Just think of the fun possible shining lasers at lions. They are cats, after all... ;)
 
I like the fact that while you have it off the body, you could put it up against a wall and pretend you're cracking a safe....

But if you're doing long exposure photography, you often have your viewfinder covered (or the subject may be dim). The projected red dot allows you to see what you are looking at in context (which may be the sky for example).

Some photographers take photos of the night sky and it can be a real pain to get everything lined up through a dim viewfinder...

Thanks for getting back to me.

When I first bought my camera a year ago (5d mark II) it had the cap on. I took it off and put the lens on it. Since then my camera has never been without a lens attached, I don't store my camera without a lens and don't know anyone who does.

Does your cap offer anything my lenses don't when they are attached?

or you could even plonk it on a mobile phone an show the youngsters of today what the very first mobile phone looked like :shrug: :p
 
I always store it with a lens on. What's the point in taking a lens off for storage as it's just another "lens off cap on" that could induce dust and for no good reason? If you leave the lens on that's one less lens change.
