Import duty/Tax/Vat could possibly increase price by 20%
C
Vat alone is 20%, total could cost as much as an additional 25% but the biggest problem could be with warranty issues if it goes wrong.

And an X10 was bought for £337.99..
The post was two pages back, near the top.
...
In Pano mode the lens is forced nearly as wide as it will go and focussing is not critical ...

4) I think I may have one of the most abused X10's in the UK.
Yep - but it was a refurb. EBAY is new. Thanks for pointing it out though.
That was me who purchased the Refurb. If you use code P10FEB15 which will probably run out in the next couple of days you can get it for £328.99 delivered.
If the box did not have a refurbished sticker on the front then you thought it was brand new. Everything came in sealed bags and looked like new. You get a 12 month warranty with it and if you don't like it you get 7 days to return it.
Think these returns might just be ones sent back because of the orbs.
Today saw the announcement of a real game changing camera.
Smaller than the X10.
Radical new sensor technology that makes Fuji EXR look quite old school.
Far higher quality than the X10.
What's not to like
Other than it's a phone
onlandscape.co.uk is a serious website; it's run by Tim Parkin and backed by Joe Cornish.
They know what they are talking about.
Their initial analysis of the sample images is absolutely astonishing!
That link is is recommended reading.
The small camera world may never be the same again![]()

I've got 1400mAh, 1300mAh and 1200mAh NP50 batteries all from ebay and all at considerably less than Fuji's offering. All hold there charge longer than the Fuji one.
Hi folks, first time poster and loving my X10.
Regarding the Lowepro Apex 60 AW case, Amazon seem to be doing it for £13.95.... Bargain.
Welcome to TP!
That's a lot less than I paid for my case - good find
In summary...
I paid too much for my X10 as it was one of the first in the UK :bang:
I paid too much for my case (didn't shop around enough) :bang:
I paid too much for my spare battery (ditto) :bang:
2/10 for effort - must try harder.........

Hi guys, I'm looking for a little advice. I have a new project coming up that will require some food shots and I was hoping to avoid an SLR setup if possible.
This shows the type of shots I'll be after:
http://www.ambrosiabaking.com/2012/02/cherry-coke-float-cupcakes.html#.Tz_D4XyeMDw.reddit
(Shallow depth of field, shot in good light, high IQ, web use, postcard sized prints)
I was thinking Micro Four Thirds body with good quality manual focus glass but I was also wondering whether or not the x10 could do the business?
I shoot raw and when viewed at more than 100% the pixels look, well, smudged. The picture looks OK though and I'm comparing it to the usual raw files from my D3. Not sure if it's me or not but can't get the flash to work when in silence mode.

I suppose it depends. Sure, the X10, in the right hands, can stand its ground. And with Pro Focus mode and macro mode, you can obtain certain shallow DoF effects, but control over DoF is rather limited (even with 2.0-2.8 aperture). I'd just try a few test shots and see what is possible. No idea of how well you know your X10; knowing the ins and outs of a camera certainly helps in overcoming limitations and/or difficult situations.
I wouldn't worry about the picture quality, as prints of limited size are the main goal. But experience (with the X10) is definitely required, I'd say...
Let us know how you fared, gingerweasel. It would be interesting to see how the X10 performed.
I imagine the silent mode is envisaged for use in situations where you don't want to annoy people, or to remain discreet, places where a flash might upset other people present - like a theatre. But seeing as the flash doesn't pop up automatically it is a bit of overkill.

Has anyone tried using the X10 for infrared photography yet?
I've got a 72nm Kood filter that I've been experimenting with but I can't quite seem to get things right. If I convert the images to mono, they look really good but I'm beginning to think that the lack of decent sunshine might be having an effect too!![]()
