I will be doing my first wedding as a 2nd tog.
I will be doing the grumme night before, and morning. Also the Speeches and Reception.
Never done a wedding before, but mainly do sports which is totally different.
Will be using a Nikon D3 /d300 and have a selection of nikon lenses, 17-55 2.8, 35mm, 70-2002.8, 300 2.8 and a SB 900 also have a pocket wisard for an off camera stuff.
If anyone could suggest the best settings etc, any ideas on angles, lighting etc

Thanks alot
chris

It all really depends on the location and availible light.
Generally, as a second shooter, your duties are to supplement the shots taken by the primary, not to cover the same footage, so I would suggest getting togetjer with the main photography beforehand, and seeing exactly what s/he wants from you. They will be able to give you better insight on what they want, and how they want it captured.

As fsr as equipment goes, you sound like youre covered. F/2.8 will give you enough light for most things. But be resdy to bump your ISO to 800-1600 as needed.

Here lies the sixty thousand dollar conundrum.

My answer - I am sure you will get them something.

No matter what equipment you have, knowing how to shoot is more important, good luck.

try to work out who the important people are ( besides the bride and groom) and catch candids of them. i always like the getting the reactions of people to the speech etc. that way they re concentrating on something else rather than trying to look natural having their photo taken
